I don't know about you but I have such a great dad I want to give him something from my heart this year-- like fun and thoughtful Father's Day gift baskets he will love. When else do I get the chance to show him how much I appreciate him being there for me all throughout my life anytime I needed him - or didn't need him or so I thought. He's a special man and more than worthy to be celebrated.
At the risk of sounding manipulative (which I sometimes might be, for the right reasons of course), presents are great opportunities to make somebody do something they wouldn't normally try on their own. Especially if you are being especially sweet and thoughtful - recipients will at least attempt to like it when you're around. Present your dad with healthy gift baskets to veer him away from those greasy fries and burgers for a change. Fresh fruit baskets are delicious choices.
If fresh fruit gift baskets really have no place in your dad's heart; you don't need to push it. It's his day so prepare something he would like and just make it as healthy as possible. Take a large wicker basket and fill it with yummy treats like whole wheat bread, imported sausages, some fruit, nuts and maybe a bottle of sparkling wine. A DVD collection would make a great present for him.
