Obeying kosher laws can be summed up in this way. For one animals are slaughtered with compassion and the method that is implemented is with a highly sharpened blade. This is a religious practice that has been going on for thousands of years and is as valid a practice today as it was then.

A person who is involved with this process of food stuffs is called a mashgiach. Basically he or she must be Jewish and must abide by the laws of the old testament. Slaughtering is done different and is carried out in a ritual fashion with prayers before commencement of the actual slaughtering. A certain length blade is used and this instrument must be free of any kinks in it so as not to harm the animal excessively.

A ritual slaughterer must undergo a rigorous course before he is allowed to become a qualified slaughterer. This course comprises study material of a practical nature as well as theory. This type of food is eaten by religious Jews and does not only comprise of meats.

A kitchen that is kosher is set up in such a way that meat and mild products never come into contact with each other. Dishes, crockery and cutlery including cooking utensils are used separately and are stored separately as well. They are washed up separately too and this is noticeable when entering a Jewish home for a meal.

The law stems from a biblical passage which says that you are not allowed to cook a calf in the milk of the mother. This has been said to teach the individual compassion and thereby shows respect to the animal kingdom too. These foods are noticeable by a stamp that they carry and are certified as such by many health departments.

This is a law that makes a Jewish home a kosher one. Kosher is another Hebrew word for kashrut where the latter is a conglomerative word for this type of production of food. Over Passover these laws are upheld although the production takes on a new dimension whereby any yeast containing foods are left out of the cooking process.

It is law that must just be kept and is known as a Chok in the Jewish religion. It is one that is not questioned although much has been expounded on this subject. One such philosophy is that it teaches the human being to have compassion and this is noticeable in the way animals are slaughtered in a gentle manner whilst not bringing any trauma to the animal.

These food packs pack a punch in that they are prepacked and can be consumed when you are on the road or when hiking or mountain biking for that matter. They serve also soldiers who are on duty. They are easily prepared by just heating up.
