Eating Right In A Treatment Center

By Chris Shinnings

It is a tough decision when it comes to creating meals for residents of your drug and alcohol facility. For starters, your guests will often ask you for different types of foods. If you have 30 residents staying in you facility, you may have to give them several different meals options. Some choices can be: fish, chicken, pasta and beef. You may have residents that demand only vegetables. Many treatment centers are seeing the need to hire a chef or simply have the food catered. Many rehabs are using menus as well. You may find that a chef catered meal actually helps your residents to understand how your treatment center works. It is important to please your residents.

A chef often provides a variety of flavor. Everyone from your medical billing staff to your physicians often want to have a variety of foods catered to their taste. There are many factors that need to be taken into consideration when things are not going your way. It is important to have a multitude of facts before hiring a catering company. For starters, you need to make sure that the food does not contain any alcohol in it. Having rum cake as a desert is not the best idea or even beneficial for your clients.

The idea of pleasing your guests with food is actually a great way of promoting yourself on social media. Social media often helps people to learn more about your organization. It is important to take it one step at a time. Over time, you will see yourself advancing. You will watch yourself moving ahead and your organization coming into a new time period. Remember that things often happen when you least expect. You can easily learn more about your organization by what people are saying about you on Facebook and Twitter.

The body is tricky. It often has needs for relaxation and rest. It also has times when you need that extra boost. Many addicts find themselves craving coffee in the morning and some doughnuts. They are obviously going after their sugar and caffeine cravings. This may not be the healthiest breakfast in the morning, but it is also not illegal. You don't want to put too much stress on your guests by giving them foods that the simply won't eat. It is important to keep your guests balanced. Having a breakfast buffet is often the best route to pleasing all of your guests in the morning.

It is more cost effective to have a chef on staff. A chef's salary may cost anywhere from $24,000 to $75,000 depending on the size of your facility. Your guests would most likely prefer handmade foods and breads. Having a chef catering your foods is nice, but it doesn't have the same personal touch. Treatment centers across the USA are having to make the difficult option of what to do. If you give your clients organic food, that can cost extra money as well. However, the health of your clients will most likely improve and you want to teach them good eating habits after they leave.
