Make It A Family Night And Eat At A Traditional Pizza Restaurant

By Jaclyn Hurley

The next time you are looking for a place to go out and enjoy a sit-down meal with the family, try a traditional pizza restaurant in Toronto, ON. You are sure to find something for everyone to eat, even if they do not want pizza and the prices are usually fair enough for each person to order something different. The atmosphere is also casual enough that no one has to worry about getting too dressed up, and yet, if you are in the mood, you can and still not feel overdressed.

Once you have placed your order, get everyone over to the arcade area most pizza parlors have. Turn it into a fun competition, winner gets to pick the toppings off one slice of the loser's pizza, or something similar. The idea is to keep things fun and get everyone in a nice, family mood. Try a variety of games, so everyone has a chance at being the winner.

Some pizza places will have a salad bar. If the one you go to does, everyone can create a nice salad after playing a few games. You can ask the water or waitress to hold off on the main courses until everyone has finished their salad. It will be held in a warming tray or oven. This will keep it from getting cold on the table.

During the salad, and then once the main meal comes, do not rush. Take some time for conversation. Find out what everyone has been doing and what plans they have for the upcoming week. The cozy atmosphere is good for putting everyone at ease and getting them to open up.

Since this is a family night out, make sure that everyone gets a chance to talk. Ask if anyone is having any problems, and then make sure everyone tries to help fix them. When it comes to your turn to talk, do not just talk about any negative things going on, you want to try and make sure that the mood is positive and happy.

Do not get too full while eating the main meal. Save room for dessert. If it seems as if everyone has eaten too much, have one dessert that can be shared by everyone, or order coffee, or some hot cocoa to extend the time you all spend together.

As the meal comes to a close, ask again if there is something that needs to be talked about. If not, make a few jokes or make plans for the next day you will all have together. Let everyone know you had a good time, and comment that you should do this more often.

Often, when you have a meal at home, some of the family members may not be there. Schedules conflict and there is usually at least one person stepping away from the table for one thing or another. Going out for a nice, sit-down meal gives everyone a chance to enjoy the meal without having to do the cooking or worry about cleaning up afterwards. A pizza place offers family food, at reasonable prices, in an atmosphere that is cozy.
