How To Build A Drill Chicken Plucker

By Helene Norris

One of the most recent devices that have been invented is the drill chicken plucker. This is because plucking birds can sometimes be very tedious and time consuming as well. Plastic barrel pluckers are always available but are very costly and therefore less affordable to most people.

The construction of this plucker requires the use of a hand drill and materials that are easily found in just about any store dealing with hardware. After dipping the dead chicken in boiling water, you will use the device which fastens the whole process. To construct it, the following are the steps to be followed.

All materials should be prepared in advance before commencing with the procedure. The main materials include two wooden boards (2x8 inches and 3/4x3/4 inches). Ensure you have your protective gear on to avoid injuries or harm during the procedure.

You can now start by laying down the 2 by8 board. You should then align the carpet on the end of the board that you want the fan motor to be held, and then attach it to the staples that are 1/2inch. Take your drill and create a hole measuring half an inch into the piece of plywood that is 6 by 6. In preparation of mounting the motor, you will be required to drill four holes.

Next, the plywood should be attached to the 2x8 piece of wood and then the motor is to be mounted on it. The two plywood pieces should then be attached together with the use of the piece of wood that measures 3/4x3/4 inches. The electrical box is then mounted on the motor and ensuring it is on its opposite side. Then, the switch, cord and motor should be wired together.

Preparation of the fingers should be done and then afterwards attached. Around the outside area of the PVC cap, 15 holes each measuring 0.4 inch should be drilled. Because the cap is pretty small, the holes should be drilled closely to each other.

The holes should be in a specific pattern. In the first row, two holes should be next to each other, while in the next row, there should be one hole at the center. The holes should follow a strict pattern to maintain uniformity. The finger pluckers are then inserted into the holes from inside out.

A 0.5 inch hole should be drilled at the PVC cap's end. For it to be able to rotate well, it is supposed to be centrally placed. The threaded rod is then welded to one of the fan motor mounting collar's end.

Nuts measuring 0.5 inch should be used to fasten the end of the rod immediately the collar is mounted to the motor. Your hand made drill chicken plucker is complete. What you have to do now is to prepare your chicken faster and your bird meal will be ready almost immediately. Removing feathers from chicken is sometimes very ugly and takes a substantial amount of time, but with this item, you can be assured of a great change and saved time as well. Plucking chickens'll not be time consuming as before, and you can be certain that it will be ready in no time.
