When a person has reached the age of sixteen, it is usually a big thing because this age that symbolizes the crossover between adolescence and adulthood. Usually, it will be girls who will be celebrating this rite of passage as most men are not really fond of fancy parties. In any case, here are some tips on sweet sixteen planning for those who have come of age.

The theme is one of the most important parts of the preparation because it is what will give life or essence to the event. Usually it would be the celebrant who will decide on the theme that he or she would want to have. However, it is very common that the planner would be suggesting a list of themes for the celebrant to choose from.

The next thing to prioritize would be to find a good venue where in the people can celebrate the party. The venue should actually be parallel to the theme so that everything can be in its proper place. For example, some themes may require an outdoor venue while there are other themes that need an indoor location. Now the most important part would be to think of who the guests are and how many people should be invited. This is extremely important because the planner must know beforehand who will be going so that he can reserve the seats and tables for the guests. If the numbers have already gone in, then the planner may shoot the invitations to the invited people.

The next part to take care of would be the designing of the venue and decorations. Now the decorations should go along with the theme so that guests will know what the theme is. Equipment is also another thing to think of because one will be needing the computers, the lighting system, and of course the sound machine.

The cake is also of much importance because this is where the celebrant will formally enter adulthood by cutting it. Now one must always remember that the cake should be big enough for everyone to eat. Obviously, the cake must also go along with the theme of the event.

The last thing on the checklist would be to take care of the program. In events like this, there would usually be a program like the gift giving, a speech, or a special number of some sorts. It is up to the planner to make sure that the program will go smoothly and if there are any problems, there is a back up plan.
