By George Baker

Brewing at home may be fun, but there is much of thinking when it comes to packing the drink. Many are usually disturbed with new Brewers being more confused since they all seem not aware of the ups and downs of bottling and kegging which fall in their entire brewing process.

This debate can go up to infinity. Each person will always want to show how better their method of storage is better than the other. This makes new brewers be thoroughly mixed up since even the beer companies will never settle for a particular method. In reality, however, both of these two approaches are not perfect neither bad.

For you to make that tasty beer that you yearn for, then be ready to take your time and come up with an uninfluenced judgment on which means take. Kegs are attributed to clear beer since they have ample space where the yeast can easily settle. They also face little disturbance as one gets beer from them. Bottles are affected by movements hence the yeast appears to be floating in your drink.

If you expect a direct means which needs little knowledge, then avoid kegs. The bottles will never force you to go for many apparatus and furthermore who does not know to fill a bottle with a liquid and make it air tight? For the keg to work efficiently, you will need a good number of equipment like the gas cylinder, O-rings, faucets and several others and also be aware of how to get them connected.

Going ahead, there is the aspect of the time issue. Most people are busy and would wish to spend less time in the preparation process. Less time is taken in filling the so-called cylinders. On the other hand, one will be forced to take a lot of time before filling all the bottles and ensuring they are all well cupped.

Controlling of the carbon dioxide level during fermentation is another aspect of importance. Though is vital; it is not easy to regulate the carbonation levels if you are using bottles. Kegs give a person a chance to monitor these levels to the desired point. Other cans may have designs that automatically control the levels of carbon dioxide.

Portability is one thing that makes the cylinders be off the mark. They are heavy compared to bottles. More so, most fridges at home do not have enough space for one to put their cylinders. With bottles, you can be picking and place them in the refrigerator.

There is a lot of wastage associated with kegs. Here, every time one serves themselves, there is a considerable amount that will spill over and also the valves are not always perfect. With bottles, one will be picking and directly drink with minimal wastage.

All styles of storage mentioned above are applicable. It will depend on an individuals criteria of choosing which serves them best. Be assured that each will have its effect on your drink in the long run. None is better than the other.
